Biography

Richard Michael “Mike” Clawson, 69, of Moberly, passed away, Wednesday, May 9, 2018 at the University Hospital in Columbia, MO. Mike was born January 3, 1949 in Moberly, MO to Billy Clawson and Mary Hanlon Clawson. He was a lifelong resident of Randolph County and a graduate of Moberly High School. Mike worked for Norfolk and Southern for over 28 years before his retirement. He was a member of NARVE. Mike liked hunting, river fishing and fly fishing. He enjoyed spending time with his friends and could be found at Hardees five days a week with fellow railroaders. Most of all, he valued the time shared with his family.

Mike is preceded in death by his parents Billy and Mary Clawson.

Survivors include his beloved wife Nancy Clawson of Moberly; daughters, Kristy Clawson and Mindy Clawson both of Moberly; grandchildren, Christopher Prather of Cairo, Trevor Clawson of Moberly, Lauren Ellington and Michael Ellington both of Moberly and Jessica Teter of Huntsville; siblings, Dolores and Gary Dowdy of Moberly, Jeanette and Dale Lumb of Decatur, IL and Tom and Tammy Clawson of Moberly; extended family and many friends.

Services celebrating Mike’s life will be held on Monday, May 14, 2018 at 2:00 p.m. at Pathway Memorial Funeral Home with interment to follow at Oakland Cemetery. Visitation will be held on Monday, May 14, 2018 from 12:00 noon until the time of service.

Memorial contributions in Richard’s honor are suggested to the American Heart Association, 3816 Paysphere Circle, Chicago, IL 60674.
