Barbara Ann Dwyer

Barbara Ann Dwyer, 77, of Moberly, Missouri, passed away at her home on February 21, 2020, surrounded by her beloved dogs. Barbara was born to the late Joseph and May (King) Rickey on November 22, 1942, in Moberly, Missouri. On December 17, 1960, she married Birney L. Dwyer and he preceded her in death on July 27, 2016. Barbara was primarily a homemaker and assisted with her husband's business, National Asphalt Paving, but did work at McGraw Edison and Midwest Linen for a time. Barbara was crazy about her pets, Gracie and Romeo. She enjoyed playing bingo and talking about her husband and daughters and the good old days. She made friends easily and was known for her love of "bling" along with patriotic and animal print clothing. She was also preceded in death by her brothers: Jean Rickey and Raymond Rickey; sisters: Ruby Lynn, Pearly Hess and Myrtle Lynn. Survivors include daughters: Jo Ann Dwyer of Moberly and Mary Ellen (Mark McCann) Dwyer of Moberly; brother-in-law, John Dwyer of Palmyra; sister-in-law, Mary Prewitt of Macon; several nieces, nephews and cousins. A public Celebration of Life will take place in the spring. Barb didn't like the cold or the winter, so the warm weather, blooming flowers and green grass will be much more celebrated. Cremation has been accorded by Million Taylor Funeral Homes of Moberly. At the family's request, in lieu of flowers, donations in Barbara's name would be appreciated to our local rescue.
