Betty Hallowell

Betty Lou Hallowell, 85 of Moberly, passed away Monday, May 29, 2017, at her home surrounded by her family. She was born October 16, 1931, in Moberly, MO to Joseph Gillispie and Edith Haynie Gillispie. Betty was a lifelong resident of Moberly and a member of Immanuel Baptist Church. On June 14, 1951, she married Carlos Hallowell. Betty’s children, grandchildren and great-grandchildren were her greatest joy. She loved spending time with her family and enjoyed taking care of everyone. Betty is preceded in death by her parents; her beloved husband and her brother, Earl Gillispie. Survivors include her children, Carla (Joe) Davis, Janet Hallowell, and Robin (Bob) Briscoe all of Moberly, Kevin (Beverley) Hallowell of Boonville and Randy (Wendy Clark) Hallowell of Moberly; grandchildren, Joey Davis, Hope Ingraham, Amber Martin, Tessa Rivera, Rebecca Riles, Ben Briscoe, Sarah Rose Hallowell, Michael Hallowell, Mitchell Hallowell, Seth Hallowell and Zachary Hallowell; numerous great-grandchildren, great-great-grandchildren, extended family and close friends. Services celebrating Betty’s life will be held on Friday, June 2, 2017, at 11:00 a.m. at Immanuel Baptist Church with interment to follow at Sugar Creek Cemetery. Visitation will be held Thursday, June 1, 2017, from 6:00 p.m. to 8:00 p.m. at Pathway Memorial Funeral Home.
