Bobby B. Smiley, 90, of Madison, went home to be with Jesus, on June 24, 2015. He was at his earthly home surrounded by his loving family. Bobby was born December 24, 1924 to Charles and Lena (Voehl) Smiley in Monroe County, Missouri. He married Mary W. Kenepp on July 22, 1944 at Junction City, Kansas while serving with the U.S. Army Cavalry at Ft. Riley, during WWII; he later served with the 101st in Italy. When returning home, he served in the US Air Mountain Division Force until being discharged in 1946. Bobby was a devoted and loving husband, father, grandfather, and loved God first; then family. He loved horses and enjoyed woodworking projects, and made several large horse-drawn carriages and stagecoaches. He was preceded in death by his parents; a son, Clifford; and brother, Charles Smiley. He is survived, by his loving wife of 70 years, Mary ; daughter, Judi (Leland) Kramer of Madison; grandchildren: Rex Smiley of St. Joe, Missouri, Michelle (Brian) Mooney of Columbia, Missouri, LeAnn (Chad) Brown of Moberly, Missouri; great-granddaughter, Sabrina Brown of Moberly, Missouri; daughter-in-law, Clare Smiley; nieces and nephews; and many friends. Visitation will be Friday, June 26, 2015 from 11:00 a.m. until service time at 1:00 p.m. at the Madison Area Community Center. Burial will immediately follow at the Sunset Hill Cemetery under the direction of Million Taylor Funeral Homes of Moberly. In lieu of customary remembrances, the family asks that memorial contributions be made to St. Jude Children's Hospital.
