Brian Keith Johnson, 56, passed away on December 30, 2019, in Moberly, MO. Brian was born on May 1, 1963, in Northfield, MN, to Eugene and Ardene Johnson, the third of their five children. Shortly after his birth, the family moved to Harbor City, CA, then Canby, OR, and Riverside, CA. He attended Norte Vista High School in Riverside, CA, and was honorably discharged from the US Air Force in 1981. He met and loved Margaret Davis, and together they had two sons. In 2004 he moved to Moberly, MO, to be close to his parents and siblings. In the last ten years, his relationship with his long-time friend, Carol Francis, grew into a loving bond. He worked a variety of jobs in the family business, construction, lawn care, and cable installation. He was a genius who enjoyed the logic of circuitry and the mysteries of history, as well as working with his hands. But his favorite pastime was provoking debates on politics, religion, human rights, and other controversial topics. Brian was gruff, yet loved deeply and had compassion for others and animals. Brian is survived by his father, Eugene O. Johnson of Moberly, MO; his sons, Alexander D. Johnson and Nicholas E. Johnson both of Menifee, CA; his beloved grandchildren Seth and Avalon Johnson of Menifee, CA; his partner, Carol Francis of Norco, CA; his brothers, John A. (Jullie) Johnson, Thomas E. (Teresa) Johnson, and Michael D. (Kozue) Johnson, all of Moberly, MO; his sister, Rachelle A. (Kevin) Freese of Platte City, MO; and several nephews, nieces, and a great-niece. He was preceded in death by his mother, Ardene M. (Gerdts) Schab of Moberly, MO; and his love, Margaret R. Davis of Riverside, CA. Following Brian’s wishes, the family will be having a small, private memorial. Condolences can be sent to Million-Taylor Funeral Home.
