Brian Van Thornhill

Brian Van Thornhill passed away Monday, November 25, 2024. He was born March 18, 1977, in Clark, Missouri, while working and living in that area for most of his life.

Brian was a skilled trim carpenter and flooring installer, with most of those skills either natural or self-taught. Brian loved creating projects and showed pride in their completion. Brian spent several years working alongside his son Coty, and he would often talk about those times as the best he’d had. Brian loved his dogs, and young children were drawn to him due to his easy-going demeanor. As many of you know, Brian struggled with addiction off and on during his adult life. Despite those battles, he nearly always managed to bring a smile to the face of those who met him. We hope he finds relief now from the physical ailments that had slowed him over the past few years. Brian had a big heart; a good soul and he will be terribly missed.

He is preceded in death by his mother, Susan Kay Thornhill, who passed on July 26, 2007. Brian is survived by his son, Coty (Madeline) Brooks; grandsons, Connor and Nolan; his father, Gary Thornhill; his brother, Jason (Leslie) Thornhill; nephew, Cooper; niece, Kenley; his sister, Lisa Thornhill ; and nieces, Amber and Hanna.
