Byron Watt Shoffner, 83, of Moberly, Missouri went home to be with the Lord, with his children by his side on November 5, 2023, at Loch Haven Nursing Home.
Byron was born on April 4, 1940, in Jacksonville, Missouri, to Charles and Faye (Bradshaw) Shoffner. He attended Cairo High School and went on to gain his associates degree.
On January 29, 1958, Byron married his high school sweetheart and love of his life, Frances Eileen Shoffner.
Byron worked in autobody repair as a young man, then went on to retire as a policeman in Tucson, Arizona. He was a member of the Cairo Christian Church and later at the Grace Baptist Church in Moberly, MO. He loved his family, his dog Hershey and hunting.
He is preceded in death by his wife, Frances Eileen Shoffner; parents, Charles and Faye Shoffner and sister, Janice (Koester) Wilson.
Byron is survived by his son, Carl (Becky) Shoffner of Van Buren, MO and daughter, Catherine (Nelson) Dorr of Navojoa, Sonora, MX; beloved grandchildren, Christine (Mark) Bullock of Palma, Mallorca, Spain, Alicia (Justin) Farmer of Unionville, CT, Micah (Jillian) Dorr of Navojoa, Sonora, MX, Anna (Jonathan) Kuefler of Obregon, Sonora, MX, Lukus (Jessica) Shoffner of Rolla, MO and Bryon (Stephanie) Shoffner of Columbia, MO; his two beloved sisters-in-law, Deloris Halterman of Moberly, MO and Carol Skinner of Ashland, MO; seventeen great grandchildren; extended family and friends.
A visitation will be held from 11:00 a.m. to 12:00 p.m. on Saturday, November 18, 2023, at Pathway-Millard Family Funeral Chapel followed by a memorial service beginning at 12:00 p.m.
