Carl Carney

Dr. Carl E. Carney DC, 72, of Moberly, passed away on July 14, 2015. Dr. Carney was born in Cassville, MO, the son of Charles Woodrow Carney and Velma Lena (Moreland) Carney. Carl was raised in Crane, MO. In 1967, he moved to Kansas City and in 1973 received his degree from Cleveland Chiropractic College. After graduation, Carl and his bride of 43 years, Peggy (Nakos), St. Louis, made their home in Moberly, MO. For over 40 years, Carl has lived and practiced Chiropractic medicine in Moberly. In addition to his wife, Dr. Carney is survived by his daughters Velinda (Johnny) McCarthy of Kansas City, KS; Betsy (Shane) Bates of Lake St. Louis, MO; and a son Steven (Merideth) Carney of Lake St. Louis, MO. Other survivors include seven grandchildren and three great grandchildren. He was preceded in death by his parents and a sister, Joyce Walker. Visitation for Dr. Carney will be held Thursday, July 16, 2015 from 1:00-2:00pm at Pathway Memorial Funeral Home followed by a brief service. Interment will immediately follow at Oakland Cemetery. In lieu of flowers, donations may be made to Cleveland Chiropractic College, 10850 Lowell Ave., Overland Park, Kansas 66210 or Missouri State Chiropractic Association, 220 E. Dunklin St., Jefferson City, MO 65101. Pathway Memorial Funeral Home has been entrusted with arrangements.
