Carol M. Frederick

Carol Marguerite Frederick, age 89, of Moberly, MO peacefully passed away on October 22, 2022, at her home.

Carol was born on August 7, 1933, in Philadelphia, PA, to Daniel and Marguerite (Gosser) McCarthy. She graduated from Kensington High School in 1951. She worked at Everlast for more than twenty years.

Carol was a member of the Zion Lutheran Church and enjoyed her time as the treasurer for the church. She married Donald Frederick, Sr. on June 27, 1953, in Philadelphia, PA. Carol was a social, active person who was deeply involved in the United Way, including serving as the president, and The Lutheran Women’s Missionary League. Her family and friends will always remember her being generous with her time and talents in serving others.

She is preceded in death by her parents, Daniel and Marguerite McCarthy, her husband, Donald Frederick, Sr., her sister Kathleen Galecki, and a brother, Daniel McCarthy III.

Carol is survived by her children Cheryl (Larry) Bowden, Hot Springs, SD, Donald (Angie) Frederick, Reeds Spring, MO, Daniel (Sigrid) Frederick, Kansas City, MO, Barbara (Jeffrey) Downing, Moberly, MO, and Helen (Karl Brockfeld) Frederick, Lees Summit, MO, grandchildren, Daniel (Melanie) Bowden, Joseph Bowden, Rochelle (Harry) Falk, John (Amy) Frederick, Vance (Liz) Downing, Jackson and Maxwell Pettegrew, Roz (Kevin) Harmon, Stafford McCarty, Dennis (Michelle) Wycoff, Stephanie (Shawn) Healy, great-grandchildren, Nicole, Kristina, Ashley and Justin Bowden, Logan, Brooke, Taylor and Hattie Bowden, Harry, Grace and Oliver Falk, Trevor and Nora Frederick, Jonathan and Emma Wycoff, Martin Wycoff, Jeff Healy, Sydney Harman and Natalie Harman, a brother, James (Judy) McCarthy, Columbia, MO, Barbara McCarthy, Princeton, NJ, Paula (Lloyd) Johnson, Salt Lake City, UT, Betty Holcomb, St. Petersburg, FL, and John (Virginia) Frederick, Munster, IN, many nieces and nephews, and extended family and many close friends.

A funeral service celebrating Carol’s life has been scheduled for Saturday, October 29, 2022, at 1:00 pm at the Zion Lutheran Church, 1075 East Urbandale Dr., Moberly, MO. Visitation will be held from 12:00 noon until the time of service.

In lieu of flowers, the family suggests memorial donations to the Christos Center of Moberly, MO.
