Carolyn Sue Burton, 73 of Bastrop Texas passed away on June 30, 2020. She was born November 3, 1946 to Amos and Mary Baker.
Carolyn enjoyed fishing at Warsaw with her brothers and their families. They have tons of memories from being at the lake and shared lots of laughs. She’s always had a green thumb to grow a great garden and beautiful plants and flowers. She enjoyed all kinds of crafting, crocheting, knitting and activities to make and put around her home. She also loved spending time with her grandchildren who brought her so much laughter and joy. She attended many of their sporting events, birthday parties and was always taking lots of pictures that we get to especially enjoy now.
She worked her entire professional career with Southwestern Bell (now AT&T) retiring after 38 years.
She married James William Burton on February 11, 1966, he proceeded her in death in 1978. She’s also proceeded in death by her mother and father, sister Helen Beeler and sister-in-law/best friend Janice Baker.
She is survived by her daughter Amy (Thomas) Wostarek of Round Rock, Texas; son Mark Burton of Portland, Texas; brothers Howard Baker of Warsaw, Missouri, Wes (Melissa) Baker of Slater, Missouri; grandkids Bret, Megan, Sarah, Ashley, Maria and 4 great-grandkids; extended family and friends.
Her family and friends will always remember her by her witty sense of humor, genuine and contagious smile.
Graveside services celebrating Carolyn Burton’s life will be held on Saturday, November 7, 2020 at 11:00 a.m. at Memorial Park Cemetery in Moberly, Missouri.
Pathway Memorial Funeral Home has been entrusted with arrangements.
