Cathy Jean Matthews

Cathy Jean (Ginther) Matthews, 68, of Moberly, passed away peacefully on Saturday October 9th, 2021 at the University Hospital in Columbia, Missouri after complications with Covid-19.

She was preceded in death by her parents Kenneth and Bernice (Shockey) Ginther, grandson Brandon Davis, and son-in-law Michael Quinlan.

Cathy is survived by her husband of 29 years Michael Matthews, daughters Vicky Davis of Moberly, Kendra Quinlan of Hickory, North Carolina, and Viola Matthews of Montgomery City, and son Joe Matthews of Corinth, Mississippi. She has one brother Carl and wife Kim Ginther of Macon, along with several grandkids, great grand kids, nieces, nephews, and friends.

Cathy worked for several years at Walmart in Moberly as a cashier and at the service desk before she retired. Cathy loved spending time with her family and friends, crocheting, and reading. She loved her pug, Sage, and all her grand dogs. Cathy was a fan of the Chicago Cubs and enjoyed going to watch the games.

The best way to describe Cathy is if she knew you, she loved you, and if she loved you, she would do anything for you! Cathy, we love you and miss you too.

A memorial service will be held at a later date and information will be shared when it’s available.
