Claude S. Baker Sr.

Claude S. Baker Sr., 82, of Moberly, Missouri, passed away on Sunday, February 13, 2022.

He was born on February 24, 1939 in Springfield, Illinois, to Jesse Baker and Mable Richards Baker. Claude and wife Deanna were married on October 15, 1987 in Moberly, Missouri.

Claude served his country in the United States Army from 1957 until 1964. He served eight years before he was honorably discharged.

Claude was a great family man and often times generous to a fault. He enjoyed music, dancing, fishing, bowling and collected coins and guns.

His family and friends will always remember him telling jokes and for always keeping a smile on his face. Claude believed in praying through all of life’s trials and tribulations and made sure to instill that faith in his family as well.

He is preceded in death by wife Deanna Baker, parents Jesse and Mable Baker, and three brothers Charlie, Michael, and Walt baker and stepdaughter Lisa Cameron.

Claude is survived by his six children, Mary Baptist of Panama City Beach, FL, Oreta and husband Mark Hurley, Steve Baker, Cindy Baker, John and wife Tamie Baker, and Tisha and husband Keith Smith all of Springfield, IL; one step daughter, Teresa Osbourn; nine grandchildren; four step grandchildren; ten great-grandchildren; and one step great-grandchild; sister Kay Ratliff of Florida; several nieces, nephews, cousins and many close friends.

Friends will be received from 10:00 a.m. until 12:00 p.m. Thursday, February 17, 2022 at Pathway-Millard Family Funeral Chapel in Moberly, Missouri. Funeral services being held at 12:00 p.m. Thursday, February 17, 2022 at Pathway-Millard Family Funeral Chapel. Interment with full military honors will follow at the Higbee City Cemetery in Higbee, Missouri.
