Claude Lee Horn, 71, of Cairo, passed away February 23, 2016 at Boone Hospital surrounded by his wife and children.
He was born in Odessa, MO April 24, 1944 to George Earnest Horn and Mary Clara Horn.
On October 10, 1964, he married Donna Jean Schermerhorn, and to that union two daughters were born, Melanie Jean and Stephanie Ann.
He worked as a heavy equipment operator for Bill Orton in Custom Bulldozing. He also worked for NEMO Coal and Associated Electric Mining Division before retirement, and was a member of UMWA Local 7688. He enjoyed hunting, fishing and farming.
Claude was preceded in death by his parents.
He is survived by his wife Donna, daughters Melanie Jean Smith and husband Bill, of Cairo, Stephanie Ann Boley of Moberly; grandchildren Trey Troxell and wife April and Craig Troxell all of Illinois; Crystal Troxell of Cairo, Shelby Boley of Moberly and adopted granddaughter, Reanne Boley; great- granddaughters Destiny and Hailey Troxell; a sister, Fay Eastburn and husband Ron of Seattle, Washington, brother John Horn of Kansas City, MO, and brother-in-law Larry Schermerhorn and wife Cheri of Huntsville, MO, nieces, nephews and friends.
Services for Claude will be Monday, February 29, 2016 at 11:00 a.m. at Pathway Memorial Funeral Home followed by interment in Oakland Cemetery. Visitation will be from 10:00 a.m. until time of service at the funeral home. Memorial contributions may be made to the American Cancer Society, 2409 Hyde Park Road, Jefferson City, MO 65109.
