Corwin Wayne Creed of Cairo, aged 95, passed away August 16, 2017 in Macon, Missouri. Born in 1922 in the family home east of Jacksonville, Wayne was a fourth generation and lifelong resident and business owner in Randolph and Macon counties, except for his service postings during World War II.
Wayne was a long time member of the Cairo Christian Church, a 50 year member of the Cairo Lions Club, and a 68 year member of the Masonic Lodge.
He was preceded in death by Doris Creed, his wife of 58 years, and Marjorie (Stone) Creed, his wife of eight years. He is survived by his son Wendell Wayne (Cathey) Creed of Moberly; daughter Cherl (John) Andrews of Minnesota; daughter Jill (Tom) Winkler of Moberly; daughter Kym (Paul) Priest of Nixa; nieces, Sharon Burrell of Moberly and Wilma Henthorn of Oklahoma; nephew Leon (Martha) Creed of Cairo; stepdaughter Charline (Robert) Livengood of Colorado; 13 grandchildren and many great and great-great grandchildren.
Services celebrating Wayne’s life will be held Saturday, August 19, 2017 at 12:00 noon at Pathway Memorial Funeral Home. Interment to follow at Memorial Park Cemetery in Moberly with full military honors. Visitation will be held on Saturday, August 19, 2017 from 10:00 a.m. until the time of service.
