His country called and he served honorably. His Lord and Savior summoned him, and he went willingly. Craig Allen Simons, former resident of Odessa from 2010 until 2017, will be laid to rest on Monday, October 21, 2019 at 11:00 a.m. at the Veteran's Cemetery in Jacksonville, Missouri. Father Phil of St. Pius X Catholic Church in Moberly will officiate. He served his country honorably as a Navy fireman aboard the U. S. S. Bennington and later he worked at Thysenkamp in Grandview, Missouri until reaching retirement age. He was the son of the late John and Anna (Chernick) Simons of Whittier, California. His sister, Beverly (Lynn) Folliott still lives in La Habra, California. Craig's first wife Christine(Quick) Simons passed in 2005, Their daughter, Stephanie (Shane) Cranmer is from Pleasant Hills, Missouri and has four beautiful children: Tabitha, Katelin, Alyssa, and Jonathan. Craig then married Lillian (Wyman) Simons in 2009 and she still survives of the home. Craig has two step-sons, Anthony Easter and Andrew Hurst of Odessa. Andrew and his wife, Amber(Hopper) Hurst, gave Craig four more beautiful grandchildren. Aurora(Stinky Britches), Austyn(His Little Buddy), Aiden(Bouncy Butt), and Aaron(Monkey Butt) were the stars in Grandpa's eyes and he loved them dearly. Craig also had three furbabies, Mika, Stormy, and Sadie Mae. Craig was a kind man and had many friends. His organizations included the Fraternal Order of the Eagles. the Moberly Landlord Association. and St Pius X Catholic Church in Moberly. In lieu of flowers, the family requests donations to the Wounded Warrior Program or the Wolf Wildlife Conservation Association. He will be sadly missed by all his family and friends
