Daniel Thomas Dunlop, 72, of Moberly passed quietly on April 26, 2022, after a valiant 8-year battle with cancer. He was surrounded by the love of his wife, daughter, grandchildren and best friend.
Dan was born in Moberly, MO on September 6, 1949 to Tom and Iris (Brashear) Dunlop.
Dan is survived by his beloved wife of 49 years, Toni (Thompson) Dunlop; his only child and light of his life, Danielle Leigh Squires; her children, his entire world, Steven & Rhyen, and son-in-law, Steve Squires. Dan is also survived by twin sister, Jean Dunlop Brockman, of Colorado.
His last passion in work was at St Pius X School where he was lovingly known by all, as simply, Mr. D.
Dan was a light in so many lives! He wasn’t just a wonderful, husband, father and grandfather; he was an active member of his community, always there in the back ground lending support. Dan leaves behind a legacy of hard work, devoted friendship and love.
Dan was an E5 in the US Army. He was stationed in Ft Leavenworth, KS and was immensely proud of his time in the service.
Friends will be received from 4:00 p.m. to 7:00 p.m. on Friday, April 29th, 2022 at St. Pius X Catholic Church. A prayer service will be held the same evening, beginning at 7:00 p.m.
A Mass of Christian Burial will be held on Saturday, April 30, 2022 at 10:00 a.m. at St. Pius X Catholic Church.
Inurnment with full military honors has been scheduled for 12:00 noon on Tuesday, May 3, 2022 at the Missouri State Veterans Cemetery in Jacksonville, MO.
Memorial contributions in Dan’s honor are suggested to the St. Pius X Catholic School, 210 S. Williams St., Moberly, MO 65270.
