David Tooley

David Tooley, age 62, of Madison, MO, passed away on Tuesday, January 7, 2025, at Barnes Jewish Hospital surrounded by his family.

David was born July 18, 1962, in Burlington, IA, to Carl and Joan (Barger) Tooley. He graduated from Moberly High School in 1981. After graduation, he worked various jobs in California and Ohio before settling down in the Madison area and beginning his career in truck driving that lasted until his health no longer allowed that type of work. He married Christy (Givens) Tooley September 28, 2013, and together they raised a family.

He loved Colorado where he spent many years of his youth. His time growing up in Colorado gave him his love of the outdoors and adventure.

David is preceded in death by his father, Carl Tooley; father-in-law, Donald Givens; beloved sister, Debra (Tooley) Wayne; brother, Donald Tooley; and his grandparents.

He is survived by his wife, Christy and son, Wyatt of the home; mother, Joan Tooley, Columbia; daughter, Kortnie Purnell, Columbia; son, Daniel Tooley, Columbia; daughter, Ashlee Tooley, Moberly; sister, Deann Tooley Gibler (Daniel Fessler), Fulton; mother-in-law, Ruby Givens, Salisbury; 7 grandchildren; and several nieces and nephews.

A Celebration of Life will be held at Central Christian Church in Moberly, MO, from 11:00 a.m. – 1:00 p.m. on Saturday, January 18, 2025.
