Deborah Sue DeJonge, 68, of Moberly, passed away March 31, 2019 at the University of Missouri Hospital surrounded by her family.
Debbie was born to George Albert Rook and Altha (Nonie) Dameron Rook on February 27, 1951 in Moberly. She graduated from Moberly High School with the class of 1969 and was a member of the Immanuel Baptist Church. Debbie was an amazing mother and grandmother. She enjoyed Bingo and going to the boat in Boonville. Her family was very important to her, and she happily babysat her grandchildren and attended their ballgames. She always enjoyed her holiday celebrations with family. Debbie was well known for her infectious laugh and for making the most delicious chocolate sheet cake.
Those preceding her in death are her parents, George and Nonie, and her significant other, Roy (Butch) Hale.
She is survived by her son Tony (Sondra) DeJonge of Higbee; grandchildren Kaila (Matt) Bolles, Clark, MO, Craig (Mariah) DeJonge, Higbee; great-grandchildren Kinley and Britton Bolles both of Clark; sisters Jeanie (Ken) Gelski and Patti Smothers both of Moberly; extended family and friends.
A memorial graveside service celebrating Debbie’s life has been scheduled for Friday, April 5, 2019 at 11:00 a.m. at the Higbee City Cemetery.
