Debra Diane Gittemeier

Debra Diane (Chism) Gittemeier, 57, of Cairo, Missouri, passed away surrounded by her loved ones on September 16, 2023, at her home.

Debbie was born on August 26, 1966, in Moberly, Missouri, to Robert and Lois (Myers) Chism.

She graduated from Brashears in 1984 and two years of college at Truman. She was a member of the Cairo Baptist Church.

She married Lloyd Gittemeier on July 8, 1989, in Macon, Missouri.

She enjoyed cooking and keeping everyone well fed. Most of all, Debbie loved to help anyone that she could. Her family will always remember her as the most kindhearted, humble and giving person.

Her two grandbabies were the light of her life. She loved her husband and their two beautiful daughters. She was very passionate and loyal to her work, it was unmatched. Her shoes will never be filled, she truly was an angel from God.

She is preceded in death by her father, Robert Chism and brother, Robert Dale Chism.

Debbie is survived by her husband, Lloyd Gittemeier of the home; two daughters, Morgan (Andrew) Speichinger of Mendon, MO and Melia Gittemeier of the home; mother, Lois Chism of Sturgeon, MO; two granddaughters, Evelyn Brianne Speichinger of Mendon, MO and Scarlett Rose Speichinger of Mendon, MO; brothers, Eric (Vickie) Chism of Sturgeon, MO, John Chism of Casper, WY, James (Beth) Chism of Sturgeon, MO; numerous nieces; nephews; cousin, Tina Ridgeway of Moberly, MO and dearest friend Carla Long of Palmyra, MO; her work family; Jessica David of Jacksonville, MO; extended family and many close friends.

A visitation celebrating Debbie’s life will be held from 2:00 p.m. until 6:00 p.m. on Wednesday, September 20, 2023, at Pathway-Millard Family Funeral Chapel in Moberly, MO. A funeral service will be held at 10:00 a.m. on Thursday, September 21, 2023, at Pathway-Millard Family Funeral Chapel in Moberly, MO, followed by interment at St. Mary’s Cemetery in Macon, MO.
