Deloris Ann Dameron, 83 of Moberly passed away Sunday, July 4th 2021 at her home with family at her side.
She was born southeast of Higbee at her grandparents’ home on February 1, 1938 to May Duffield and Emma Orton Duffield. Deloris was a lifelong resident of Randolph County, a graduate of Higbee High School and a member of the Higbee Christian Church. On November 26, 1955 she wed Billy Gene Dameron at Denver and Thelma Baker’s home east of Higbee. The two went on to raise 4 daughters and were blessed with 65 wonderful years together.
Deloris starting working for the Higbee City Bank when she was 16, from there she worked for Temple Stephens, Fessler Tool and Dye, Orschelns, Woodland Hospital and at the Moberly Area Community College as secretary for 6 years before she decided to retire.
She was a member of the Hamilton Busy Bees, the Randolph County Teachers Association and the “McDonald’s Supper Club” from which all of her grandchildren benefited.
Deloris was very skilled with a needle and thread. She enjoyed hand sewing, embroidery, crocheting and quilting. She also loved preparing Sunday family luncheons and Saturday morning crafting with her grandchildren.
Deloris was preceded in death by her parents, May and Emma Duffield; her daughter, Dyanna Hackett and her in-laws, John Bagby Dameron and Cornie Bell Hanners Dameron.
Survivors include her beloved husband, Billy Gene Dameron of Moberly; daughters, Jean and James Rockenfield of Moberly, Dorinda Dameron of Mount Airy, Kay and Rodney Daniel of Higbee; grandchildren, Laversa and Shawn Siebuhr of Columbia, J. R. and Regan Rockenfield of Kansas City, Hannah and Nathan McNally of Higbee, Josh (Leslie Burnett) Rockenfield of Moberly, Miranda and Rian White of Huntsville, Makayla (Zac Smith) Daniel of Cairo, Billy (Laura Richardson) Hackett of Columbia and Cole (Hannah Simonsen) Daniel of Cheyenne, WY; great grandchildren, Ella McNally, Cooper Siebuhr, Jaden Chirillo, Nevada Byrd, Henry Rockenfield, Peter Rockenfield, Ashtyn Siebuhr, Claudia Rockenfield and Riland White; extended family and many close friends.
Services celebrating Deloris’s life will be held on Thursday, July 8, 2021 at 2:00 p.m. at Pathway Memorial Funeral Home with interment to follow at the Higbee City Cemetery. Visitation will be held on Wednesday, July 7, 2021 from 5:00 until 7:00 p.m. at the funeral home.
