Dennie E. Foster, 83, of Moberly, passed away on Thursday, January 4, 2018 at Moberly Regional Medical Center. He was born October 14, 1934 in Kirksville, MO to Dennie and Frances Cooley Foster.
Dennie relocated to Moberly from Kirksville in 1952. He then joined the United States Army and served his country honorably during the Korean War. Dennie was united in marriage to Louise Martin on September 5, 1960. She preceded him in death on July 4, 2016. He held a Bachelor of Science in Physical Education and a Masters in Vocational Counseling. He taught and coached in St. Louis, Callao and Moberly Schools. After retiring from teaching and coaching Dennie worked as a real estate agent for Century 21, McKeown and Associates. He liked reading, was a history buff and enjoyed family genealogy. Dennie attended Family Life Fellowship. He was also an avid sports fan. Dennie supported all the local teams, enjoyed the Olympics and loved March Madness. He will be missed by many.
Those preceding Dennie in death are his parents; his beloved wife Louise; sisters, Dorothy McCune and Adeliene Foster and brother, Billie Richard Foster.
Survivors include his children, Margaret Fischbeck of St. Louis, James Foster of Columbia and John Foster of Moberly; brother-in-law and sister-in-law Jim and Bonnie Bohanon; extended family and many friends.
A memorial gathering celebrating Dennie’s life will be held Tuesday, January 9, 2018 from 12:30 to 2:30 p.m. at Pathway Memorial Funeral Home. Inurnment will follow at the Missouri State Veterans Cemetery in Jacksonville with full military honors.
