Dennis F. “Woody” Woodward, age 79, of Beavercreek, OH, formerly of Junction City, KS, passed away on Tuesday, May 21, 2019. Dennis was born on July 23, 1939, to the late Frank and Ella Woodward, in Junction City, KS. While earning his B.A at Washburn University he met his future wife Dorothy, at a record store. They moved to the Dayton area after Dennis started working for Marion Labs as a pharmaceutical sales rep. He was a devoted longtime member of Ascension Catholic church in Kettering. Dennis was a lifelong fan of all things sports, and specially loved the Kansas Jayhawks, Cincinnati Reds, and The Ohio State Buckeyes. After his retirement he loved to golf, hunt, and fish, and spent much of his time with Dorothy down in Florida. Dennis was a very determined and generous person and will be missed by all who knew and loved him.
Dennis is preceded in death by his sister, Kay Kitner.
He is survived by his loving wife of 55 years, Dorothy Woodward; daughters, Denise (Jeff) Smith and Diane (Chris) Thomas; grandchildren Josh (Ashley) Wolf and Zach Wolf; sisters, Faye (John) Crow and Debra (Steve) Meyers; God-children, Kenneth Schumann, Chuck Schumann, Dot Shannon, and Addy Schumann; friend Todd Petry; and numerous extended family and friends.
A Mass of Christian Burial will be held on Saturday, June 1, 2019 at St. Pius X Catholic Church, 209 S Williams St, Moberly, MO 65270, at 11:00 a.m. Interment will follow at St. Mary’s Cemetery, Moberly, MO. Visitation will be held at the church from 10:00 a.m. until time of service. In lieu of flowers, donations can be made to St. Vincent de Paul, c/o St. Pius X Catholic Church, P O Box 310, Moberly, MO 65270.
