Don Taylor “Fletch” Fletcher, 57, passed away unexpectedly on Friday, June 7, 2019. He was born in Boulder, CO on May 19, 1962 to Curtis and Ann (Dixson) Fletcher.
The community came to know and love Don through his family’s former Moberly business – The Skateland. He went on to serve his country in the United States Navy. On October 11, 1980 he married Brenda Nickerson and they made Moberly their home. Don was a truck driver for most of his career, with Brenda joining him in later years so they could be together while driving as a team. Prior to moving to away from Moberly last year, Don spent the last 5 years working for his Nickerson family business – 7800 Taxi. He was an avid bowler, attending tournaments throughout the U.S., and enjoyed playing and coaching softball. Don was so proud of and dearly loved spending time with his three grandchildren.
Don is preceded in death by his parents; his beloved wife, Brenda; his son, Don Curtis “D.C.” Fletcher; and his father-in-law, Donald Nickerson.
Survivors include his daughter, Jessica Fletcher of Madison, MO; grandsons, Dylan Fletcher, Taylor Fletcher and Patrick Devine; brother, Gary (Robin) Fletcher of Huntsville, MO; mother-in-law, Roxanne Nickerson of Madison MO; sisters-in-law, Lori (Perry) Humphrey of Columbia, MO; Pam (Kevin) Renzelmann of Moberly, MO; Rhonda (Jim) Colley of Harrisburg, MO; Rae (Bruce) Bennett of Madison, MO; brothers-in-law, Donnie (LeaAnn) Nickerson of Moberly, MO; Darrell Nickerson of Madison, MO; and Larkin Bennett, also of Madison, MO; several nieces and nephews; extended family and dear friends.
A graveside service celebrating Don’s life will be held on Thursday, June 13, 2019 at 1:00 p.m. at Oakland Cemetery in Moberly, MO.
