Donald Duane Newman

Donald Duane Newman, 77, of Higbee passed away December 4, 2010 at the Moberly Regional Medical Center. Born and rasied in Howard County to Elmer “Doc” and Lou Ella Newman, Donald was born on November 28, 1933 and was a life long resident of Higbee. In his early years Donald worked in Moberly and then he became an auctioneer and farmer. In the latter part of his life he worked for the City of Higbee at the Water Department. Upon his retirement, Donald delivered meals for the Higbee Senior Center. Donald is survived by one brother, Wayne and Jo Newman of Kirksville. He is also survived by five nieces and one nephew; Pattie and David Bolton of Bolivar, Kimberly and Greg Plett of Broken Arrow, OK, Julie Newman of O’ Fallon, Judy Green of Creve Coeur, AZ, Sharon Fisher and Allan Burgin both of Higbee. Donaled is also survived by several other nieces and nephews. Donald was preceded in death by his parents, one half-brother, T.R. Fisher and one half-sister Hilda Burgin. Services will be Tuesday December 7, 2010 at 2:00 P.M. at the Million-Taylor Funeral Home in Higbee. Burial will be at the Higbee City Cemetery. Visitation will be Tuesday from 1-2:00 P.M. at the funeral home. Memorials are suggested to the Higbee Baptist Church.
