Donald Wayne Rogers, 65, of rural Higbee passed away Thursday, February 7, 2013. Donald Wayne was born January 23, 1948 to the late Merle L. Rogers and Lorraine (Dutcher) Rogers on January 23, 1948 in Higbee, MO. Donald Wayne is survived by his soul mate, Linda (Grimsley) Rogers, sons Keven L. Rogers (Summer) of Higbee, MO, and Michael D. Rogers (Marla), of Moberly, MO; brother Kenneth R. Rogers (Becky) of Moberly, MO and sister Peggy K. Ancell of rural Huntsville, MO; grandchildren: Landon Rogers, Mason Rogers, Ashley Cooley, and Ernie Boggs III and several nieces, nephews, and cousins. Donald Wayne was preceded in death by his parents and brother-in-law Don Ancell. Donald Wayne served his country in the U.S. Air Force from 1967 to 1971, achieving the rank of sergeant. He was a member of the Higbee United Methodist Church. His life centered around his family, friends and spending time with those he loved. He enjoyed the outdoors, pheasant hunting, fishing, playing cards and golf, cooking and entertaining friends. He was always a helping hand and will be sadly missed by the many lives he touched. A visitation will be held on Saturday, February 9, 2013 from 10 a.m. until 1:00 p.m. at the Million Taylor Funeral Home of Moberly with Masonic services held at 1:00 pm. Funeral services will take place at 2:00 pm in the chapel of Million Taylor Funeral Home of Moberly with Rev. Ron Forman officiating. Burial will follow at the Higbee City Cemetery with military honors. In lieu of flowers, donations are suggested to the Higbee Masonic Lodge #527 and the Higbee Senior Center.
