Donald Shannon

Donald Lee Shannon, Sr., 76, of Moberly, passed away January 12, 2017 at Boone Hospital in Columbia, Missouri after a brief illness. Donald was born April 22, 1940 in Clifton Hill, Missouri, to LeRoy “Pete” Shannon and Mona Tremain Shannon. He was married to Judy Jones Shannon for many years. Donald was a retired member of the United Ironworkers Local #10, in Kansas City, Missouri. Don played the banjo and guitar, and loved bluegrass and country music. Don has many interests during his life that included hunting and fishing as well as woodworking and coin collecting. He was a proud Irishman who liked spending time with his family and friends at the Eagles. Those preceding Donald in death are his parents; and two brothers, infant Norman Shannon and Richard Shannon. He is survived by his son, Donald Shannon Jr. and Kerri of Moberly; step granddaughter, Tara Henry of Moberly; step great grandchildren, Deklon and Liam Henry both of Moberly; his brother, Monte Shannon of Coal City, IL, and extended family and friends. A gathering of family and friends will be held Thursday, January 19, 2017 from 5:00 until 7:00 p.m. at Pathway Memorial Funeral Home in Moberly.
