Donald E. Vanskike, 74, of Huntsville, Missouri, passed away on Saturday, February 6, 2021 at his home. Donald was born August 23, 1946, to Alfred and Eunice Marie (Brown) Vanskike in Moberly, Missouri. Donald married his high school sweetheart, Betty Fainter on June 11, 1967. He was a Journeyman Electrician for Hubble for 15 years before retiring. He loved spending time with his family and grandkids. He enjoyed traveling, nature, guns, animals and especially loved working on cars in his shop. Survivors include his wife of 54 years, Betty Vanskike of Huntsville, Missouri; daughters: Kristina Ann Vanskike of Moberly, Missouri, Donna (Martin) Wilmoth of Hunstsville, Missouri, and Wendy (Buddy) Cook of Huntsville, Missouri; grandchildren: Jackie, Roberta, Jessie, Crystal, Daniel, Melissa, Megan, Jerry, Frankie, and Oscar; step-granddaughter, Tiffany Wilmoth; 14 great-grandchildren; sister, Bonnie June Vanskike of Kansas City, Missouri; brother, Alfred W. Vanskike, Jr. of Owassa, Oklahoma; and many nieces and nephews. A visitation will be held on Friday, February 12, 2021, from 12:00 p.m. until 1:00 p.m. at the Million Taylor Funeral Homes of Moberly, Missouri. Funeral service will take place at 1:00 p.m. with full Military Honors to follow. Due to Missouri State Veterans Cemetery being closed on Friday, burial will take place at a later date. Memorial contributions may be made to the American Heart Association or the Wounded Warrior Project.
