Dora Gibson

Dora Jane Marie Gibson, 76, of Moberly, MO passed away at her home surrounded by her family on May 13, 2021. Dora was born in Moberly on June 12, 1944 to Robert Prewitt and Lillian Summers Prewitt. She attended Moberly schools and in 1963, in St. Louis, MO, she married Harvey Gibson, who preceded her in death in 2001. Dora was a woman of strong faith and was a member of The Pentecostal Church in Moberly. She worked as a caregiver for many years, helping others in their homes by cooking, doing laundry and cleaning. She loved to read and work on puzzle books. She enjoyed meeting her sister in Kirksville where the two would often have lunch together. The family said, when she went to the Columbia Mall with them, she always asked to stop at the candy store. She loved anything sweet. Her daughter, grandchildren and siblings held a special place in her heart. Those preceding Dora in death are her parents, Robert and Lillian Prewitt; husband, Harvey Gibson; brothers, Bob, Roy and Charlie Prewitt and sisters, Margaret Epperly, Betty Vittetoe, Minnie Parker and Connie Finley. She is survived by her daughter, Mary Rogalski of Moberly; grandchildren, Marissa, Mikey and Mitchell Rogalski all of Moberly; sister, Judy Jenkins of Kirksville; brother, Harold Prewitt of Moberly; extended family and friends. Services celebrating Dora’s life will be held Tuesday, May 18, 2021 at 1:00 p.m. at Pathway Memorial Funeral Home. Interment will follow at Troy Cemetery in Troy, Missouri.
