Dorothy Ann Reaman Siefer, age 98, passed away December 31, 2015 at Ravenwood Terrace in Moberly, MO. Dorothy was born March 20, 1917 in Lima, Ohio to Marcus and Dora Bock Reaman. She married Edward Siefer in Lima on November 16, 1940. In 1954 they moved from Ohio to Kirksville, MO where Dorothy taught school. She was the first lay teacher at the newly opened Mary Immaculate Catholic School where she taught until 1977. They then relocated to Moberly and she worked as a teacher’s assistant at St Pius School. Over the years she has received many cards and letters from students expressing how much her teaching affected their lives. Dorothy and her husband, Ed were very active members of Mary Immaculate and later St Pius parishes, including the Alter Society, bible studies and Cursillo. She really enjoyed her family and friends, playing golf and cards. Those preceding her in death are her parents, her husband, a daughter, Sandra Purdy, three sisters and five brothers. She is survived by her brother Robert Reaman and wife JoAnne of Lima, Ohio; daughter Elizabeth Schroeder and husband Ken, of Moberly; grandchildren, Stephanie King (Matthew) of Berwick, PA, Patricia Wallace of Austin, TX, Elizabeth Hanson of Berwick, PA, and Nicole Shelby (Jonathan) of Columbia, MO; great grandchildren, Erin Wallace of Lubbock, TX, Shannon Wallace of Austin, TX, Connor Hanson, Josephine Hanson and William Hanson all of Berwick, PA, Kaitlyn Shelby and Hughes Shelby both of Columbia, MO. A Mass of Christian Burial will be held Tuesday, January 5, 2016 at 10:00 a.m. at St. Pius X Catholic Church. Visitation will be Monday, January 4, 2016 from 5:00 to 7:00 p.m. also at the church with a prayer service beginning at 5:00 p.m. In lieu of flowers, the family requests memorials be made to St. Pius X School, P O Box 310, Moberly, MO, 65270 or Mary Immaculate Catholic Church, 716 E. Washington, Kirksville, MO 63501.
