D.J. Brady, 80, of Cairo passed away on Tuesday, June 16, 2015 at the Harry S. Truman Memorial VA Hospital in Columbia. D.J was born to Drewie and Alice Elizabeth (Allen) Brady on August 3, 1934 in Clarks Fork, Missouri. He proudly served his Country in the United States Air Force from 1952 until 1956. D.J served during the Korean Conflict and was awarded the National Defense Service Medal. He and Paulette (Polson) were married in 1984 and were getting ready to celebrate their 30th wedding anniversary. D.J worked for Norfolk and Southern Railroad as an engineer for many years before retiring in 2001. He enjoyed hunting and fishing and was known for his manicured yard. He is preceded in death by his parents; son, Michael Brady; Brother Bill Brady; and sister, Alice Buck. Survivors include his wife, Paulette Brady of Cairo, MO; daughter, Amber Brady (Jan Waltman) of Moberly, Mo; sons: Gary Brady (Debbie) of Pipestone, MN, Bill Brady (Cathy) of Fayette, MO; brother, George Brady (Iva) of Missouri; several grandchildren and great grandchildren; as well as nieces and nephews. A Memorial Gathering will be held on Sunday, June 21, 2015 from 2:00 p.m. until 4:00 p.m. at the Million Taylor Funeral Homes of Moberly. A Committal Service will take place on Monday, June 22, 2015 at 12:00 p.m. at the Missouri State Veterans Cemetery in Jacksonville, Missouri with Military Honors.
