Edith Irene Ash, 94, of Moberly, passed away Wednesday, May 27, 2015 at Valley View Nursing Home in Moberly. Edith was born April 17, 1921 in Fayette to Lewis J. and Mary Reeves Westfall. She was a member of the North Park Baptist Church and the Moose Lodge. Edith worked as a seamstress and also taught sewing. She was a security officer for the University of Missouri Library for a number of years. In her spare time she enjoyed sewing, cooking, fishing and she loved flower gardening. Those preceding her in death are her parents; brothers Ira, Bill, and Everette Westfall; sisters Ellen Orton and Frances Whisenand; her husband Lawrence “Larry” Ash, an infant daughter, Rebecca Jo Ash and a son, Kenneth Bradley. She is survived by her siblings, Frank Westfall (Gene) of Broomfield, Colorado, Marjorie Runyon (Ted) of Delevan, IL, Jo Newman (Wayne) of Kirksville, MO, Elsie Lynn (Al) of Peoria, IL.; daughter Judy Penton (Kenneth) of Middle Grove, MO; grandchildren, Dusty Volle (Katina) of Hartsburg, MO, Deana Volle of Columbia, MO, Shawn Bazanele, Richard Bradley, and Damon Bradley all of Trinadad, Colorado; 8 great grandchildren; 2 great-great grandchildren; a sister-in-law Mary Virginia Westfall of Higbee; and a lifelong friend of 65 years Laura Lisle of Moberly, and numerous beloved nieces and nephews. Services will be Monday, June 1, 2015 at 11:00 a.m. at Pathway Memorial Funeral Home in Moberly, followed by interment in the Higbee City Cemetery. Visitation will be from 10:00 a.m. until time of service at the funeral home. Memorial contributions would be appreciated to the donor’s choice.
