Edward Simon Pastrovich 95 of Port Charlotte, FL, formerly of Moberly passed away July 7, 2011 at Village Place in Port Charlotte. He was born August 9, 1915 in St. Louis to Samuel and Elizabeth (Provaznic) Pastrovich. Mr. Pastrovich was a farmer before retiring. He was a member of the Farm Bureau and was elected as Patriot of the Month for D.A.R. in January 2010. Edward played for the St. Louis Cardinals Minor League before being drafted into the Army. He was a member of St. Pius X Catholic Church. On May 9, 1946 in St. Louis he married Alice Virginia Miller and she preceded him in death on February 8, 1994. He is survived by one daughter Betty and Dick Halterman of Port Charlotte, FL; two brothers Sam and Jessie Pastrovich of Mt. Olive, IL and Frank and Minnie Pastrovich of Walshville, IL; two sisters Helen and Ray Zanini of Fiddletown, CA and Betty and Marty Wisenberg of Redford, MI; four grandchildren and four great-grandchildren. He was preceded in death by his parents, his wife, 2 brothers, 1 sister and 1 son. Services will be Tuesday July 12, 2011 at 2:00 P.M. at the St. Pius X Catholic Church in Moberly. Burial will be at the Missouri State Veterans Cemetery in Jacksonville. Visitation will be Monday from 5-7:00 P.M. at the Million-Taylor Funeral Home in Moberly. Memorials are suggested to the St. Pius X Catholic Church.
