Edward "Eddie" B. Ruby Jr., 98, of Moberly passed away on Thursday, June 4, 2015 in Camdenton, Missouri with his family by his side. Edward was born September 11, 1916 in Kansas City, Kansas to Edward and Amelia (Bauer) Ruby. He proudly served his country as a Merchant Marine during WWII. In 1944 he married Edna (Jameson) in Kansas City, Missouri. Eddie lived his working life on his farm in Higbee, Missouri. When he retired, he and Edna moved to Mission, Texas for 10 years and then moved to Moberly. He loved Moberly and was very happy to be back in the area. Eddie made many good friends in Moberly, especially at The Community Kitchen. He was very active up until he turned 96 and then moved closer to his daughter in Camdenton, Missouri. Eddie was preceded in death by his wife, Edna who passed away in 2005; parents; brother, Gene Ruby; and step-son, Jerry Taylor. He is survived by his daughter, Pat Schuermann and husband John of Camdenton, Missouri; step-daughter, Barbara Taylor of Overland Park, Kansas; grandchildren: Jo Pat Scanlan, Jerry and Cindy Woodson, Jim and Lisa Woodson, Jason and Becky Lux, Jerry and Pam Taylor, Robbie and Sara Taylor, Janet and Eric Blake; 14 great-grandchildren; and two great-great grandchildren. Visitation will be held on Monday, June 8, 2015 from 1:00 p.m. until service time at 2:00 p.m. at Million Taylor Funeral Homes of Moberly with Deacon John Hill officiating.. Burial will follow at Oakland Cemetery, Moberly, Missouri.
