Eldon L. Roe

Eldon Roe was born on December 23, 1927 in Woodville, Missouri, to parents Joseph Lee and Marie Helene Kammerer Roe; and died on December 21, 2013 in Quincy, Illinois. He married Shirly Dubree on April 5, 1949, and she survives. Also surviving are sons Gary (Kathy) Roe of Quincy, Illinois; Russel Gail (Becky) Roe of Moberly; Richard Paul Roe of Grand Junction, Colorado; daughter Jan (Richard) Palliser of Moberly; daughter-in-law Helen Roe of Grand Junction, Colorado; brother Baxter (Lorraine) Roe of Macon; brothers-in-law Russel Dubree of Moberly; Richard (Maryann) Dubree of Watertown, Wisconsin; sisters-in-law Willa Roe of Macon; Sandra Dubree of Decatur, Illinois; grandchildren Casey Roe; Ginger Sermon of Quincy, Illinois; Jeff (JacQueline) Roe of Saint Jo, Texas; Brenda (David) James of Omaha, Nebraska; Kristen (Andrew) Harms of Moberly; Brandon Roe; Brandy (Damon) Slaughter of Liberty, Missouri; Danielle (Chris) Bohm of Moberly; Ashley (Ryan) Holloway of Jacksonville; 23 great-grandchildren; 3 great-great-grandchildren; nieces and nephews. Eldon was preceded in death by his parents; son Gregg Roe; brothers Henry Roe; Glen Roe; Donald Roe; brother-in-law Joe Dubree; and granddaughter Seantelle Roe. Eldon worked for Goddard-White Auto Parts for 38 years, and was the Administrator of the Moberly Moose Lodge for 11 years. He was a member of the Jefferson Avenue United Methodist Church. He made many friends through all of these. Eldon had numerous health issues over the last 15 years; but he always seemed to bounce back, until his stroke around 3 years ago. He never did regain full strength. He recently contracted pneumonia and some other infections which weakened him a great deal; and he just wasn’t able to overcome them this time. He was a kind and gentle man who will be missed by his family, friends, and neighbors. Visitation will take place on Tuesday, December 24, 2013 from 11:00 a.m until service time at 1:00 p.m at the Million Taylor Funeral Homes of Moberly.
