Eli Asher Sanders, age 14, of Moberly, Missouri passed away on November 4, 2017 at his home. Eli was born January 21, 2003 in Columbia, Missouri. He was the son of Brandon Sanders and Penny McQueen. He was a freshman at Moberly High School where he was a superior student with excellent grades and many friends. He enjoyed spending time with friends, cooking, playing video games and watching tv. He had sparkling eyes and a shy smile that would light up any room. Teachers always commented on his quiet, respectful manner. He told funny jokes. He loved his family and friends deeply and would do anything to help a friend in need, no matter the nature of their struggle.
Eli is preceded in death by his paternal great-grand parents, Robert “Burl” and Mary Goff, and Eunice and Naomi Sanders; paternal uncles, Denver Robb, Larry Sanders and Danny Timms; maternal great-grand parents, Porter and Selma McQueen and William “Dave” and Helen Vincent and a maternal Aunt, Carol (McQueen) French.
Eli is survived by his father, Brandon Sanders, mother, Penny McQueen and brother, Noah Sanders all of Moberly, Missouri. He is also survived by his honorary siblings, Paige Paalhar and Ryan Prentzler; paternal grandparents, Don and Patricia Sanders of Gerradstown, West Virginia and Duane “Buck” and Penny Plotner of Huntsville, Missouri and maternal grandparents John and Evelyn McQueen of Holts Summit, Missouri. He has numerous aunts and uncles, cousins and countless friends.
A funeral service celebrating Eli’s life has been scheduled for November 11, 2017 at 10:00 am at Pathway Memorial in Moberly, Missouri with interment at Huntsville City Cemetery in Huntsville, Missouri. Visitation will be held November 10, 2017 from 5:00 to 7:00 pm at Pathway Memorial. If desired, donations may be sent to Pathway Memorial in Eli’s memory to help with the cost of funeral expenses.
