Elizabeth Jean Couture, 63, of Higbee, Missouri went to be with her Lord on Thursday, November 11th, 2021 at 3:41 pm at University Hospital, Columbia, Missouri surrounded by her family. Jean was born to Irene & Forrest Ogg on May 29th, 1958 in Clarkston, Michigan. After graduating Clarkston High School in 1976, she went on to receive her Associates degree in accounting at Oakland Community College, and then on to work for Perry Drugstore in Waterford, Michigan. On September 12th, 1981 she married the love of her life, Paul Frederick Couture at the Waterford Community Church in Waterford, Michigan. One tiny apartment, one regular house, 4 children, and 11 years down the road she moved with her family to Aurora, IL. Here she began homeschooling, added two more children, and began mentoring other young mothers. Later on she moved with her husband and family to Missouri, first in St. James (1999-2000), then built a homestead in Higbee, Missouri (2000-2021). Jean was a quietly passionate lady of class. She loved helping behind the scenes, supporting her husband, running the accounting for the family business, and homeschooling & raising her sons and daughter. Some of her favorite leisure activities included singing or listening to music (primarily hymns, gospel or classical), counted cross-stitching, computer/phone games, puzzles, board & party games, and spending time along the river or watching trains with her husband and family. She ran her first 5k in 2018, and her first triathlon in 2019 at the age of 61! God and Family were the most important things in Jean’s life. She loved to spend time reading her bible and praying, mentoring other young women in the Lord, and volunteering in areas that would help people see and feel Jesus. Having family together blessed her so much, and she could often be found caring for one or more of her 11 grandchildren. Her favorite volunteer opportunity was working with Operation Christmas Child, an organization she spent many, many hours helping in so many ways over the years to ensure children around the world know of Jesus, and have a little Christmas cheer!
