Ella McGee

Ella May McGee, age 88, of Holliday, MO went home to the Lord on June 27, 2022.

Ella May was born on February 13, 1934 in Moberly, MO, to Henry Howell and Carrie (Self) Howell. She Graduated from Madison High School, in 1951. Ella played piano at Holliday Baptist Church until the church closed.

Ella was a member of the Mount Airy Baptist Church and was very involved in her children and grandchildren’s lives. She married Tommie McGee on November 22, 1951 in Moberly, MO.  

Ella enjoyed her garden, church, family and getting in her car to go shopping. Her family and friends will always remember her for making the best homemade beef and noodles and banana ice cream.

She is preceded in death by her parents, her husband Tommie McGee, two sons, Jimmy and Bobby McGee, her sister Mary Alice McGee, two grandsons, Rick Stephenson and Josh McGee, one great-granddaughter, Addy Canzoneri, and nephew Billy McGee.

Ella May is survived by her daughter Cathy (Chris) Schreiber of Glasgow, MO, daughter-in-law, Brenda McGee, of Holliday, MO, daughter, Becky (Jerry) King, of Wright City, MO, daughter Debbie (Greg) Griffin of Moberly, MO, daughter-in-law Amy Tyler, of Norborne, MO, son Tony McGee of Holliday, MO and daughter Pam (Mike) Nicolay, of Columbia, MO, 17 grandchildren and 41 great-grandchildren, 7 great-great grandchildren along with numerous nieces and nephews.

Graveside services celebrating Ella May Mcgee’s life have been scheduled for July 4, 2022 at 10:00 am at Bethel Cemetery, Holliday, MO, officiated by her great-grandson, Devin Kirkendoll.
