Ellen Marie Embree was born on September 19, 1931, in Cuba, New York, to Dean and Ruth Young. Ellen attended and graduated from Cuba Central School. She met and married Harry Val Embree on September 10, 1951, and together they had nine children. After raising the nine children, they retired to Clemmons, North Carolina. Her husband Harry Passed away in June 2010. She then moved to Chiefland, Florida to be by her daughter Barbara, and because, she loved the state of Florida. She loved crafts of all kinds and taught at the state level in Home Bureau. She crocheted many hats for cancer patients and many lap blankets for our Veterans. She loved cruising and took many great cruises with her family. She would have stayed on a cruise ship permanently if the family would let her. She always kept herself busy and always had a smile on her face. She leaves to mourn her passing, two sister: Mary and Sylvia of New York; two step children: Becky Foster and Steve Embree of Moberly, Missouri; nine children: Greg Embree of Tennessee, Glenda (Tom) Jourdanais of New York, Mark (Phyllis) Embree of Georgia, Dena (Mike) Gibson of North Carolina, Bruce Embree of North Carolina, Jamie (Tommy) Embree Hatton of Florida, Barbara (Ernest) Clark of Florida, Ruth Embree (Tina Berg) of North Carolina, Nancy Poore of Florida, and Penelope Embree of North Carolina; 19 grandchildren; 62 great-grandchildren; and 4 great-great grandchildren. She will be greatly missed by all. A memorial service will be held on Saturday, June 8, 2019, at 10:30 a.m. at the Madison Christian Church.
