Emanuel Elmer Hopkins, 84, of Moberly passed away Saturday, May 31, 2014 at his residence. Emanuel was born on February 24, 1930 to the late Frank and Katie (Malaney) Hopkins in Moberly, Missouri. He married Betty Lane on October 3, 1951. Emanuel served in the United States Army during the Korean War. In previous years, he worked as a Manager at Cook Paint and Varnish then went to work for DuPont where he retired after 20 years of service. He was a member of the Seventh Day Adventist Church in Moberly. He is survived by his loving wife of 62 years, Betty Hopkins of Moberly, Missouri; daughters: Deborah Bothell and husband Warren of Tipton, Iowa, and Marjorie Lee and husband Steve of Tipton, Iowa; sister, Bertha Polson of Moberly, Missouri; 4 grandchildren; 10 great grandchildren, nieces and nephews. Visitation for Emanuel will be held on Monday, June 2, 2014 from 4:00 p.m until 7:00 p.m at the Million Taylor Funeral Homes of Moberly. Funeral Service will take place on Tuesday, June 3, 2014 at 2:00 p.m in the Chapel of the Funeral Home. Burial will follow at Oakland Cemetery. In lieu of customary remembrances, memorial contributions can be made to the American Diabetes Association.
