Erma Dell Childers

Erma Dell Childers, 94, of Moberly, Missouri, passed away on Saturday, March 31, 2018, at Moberly Nursing & Rehab. Erma was born December 18, 1923, to the late Charles and Rhoda (Andrews) Sumpter in Randolph County, Missouri.On January 26, 1942, she was married, and of this marriage came her children. She later married William Childers on December 24, 1980, he preceded her in death. During her career, she was employed by Orscheln Industries for 18 years. She was a member of the Logan Street Church of Christ and a member of the Eagles. She was also preceded in death by her son, Danny Lee "Butch" Hopper; daughters: lIda Jean Morris and Cheryl Ann Olson; step-son, Sandy Childers; special niece, Linda Davidson; brothers: Rollin Sumpter and Leo Sumpter; sisters, Fleta Avery and Dorothy Trustee. Survivors include her sons: Robert Hopper and wife Patricia of Huntsville, Missouri, John Hopper and wife Joyce of Moberly, Missouri; step-sons: Mike Childers of California and Mark Childers of Moberly, Missouri; son-in-law, Richard Olson of Umatilla, Florida; daughters: Vickie Elledge and husband George Jr. of Washington, Missouri and Theresa Greer and husband Kenneth of Columbia, Missouri; daughter-in-law, Judy Hopper of Moberly, Missouri.; 30 grandchildren; numerous great grandchildren; as well as many nieces and nephews. A visitation will be held on Friday, April 6, 2018, from 11:00 a.m. until 1:00 p.m.at the Million Taylor Funeral Homes of Moberly. Funeral Service will take place at 1:00 p.m. at the funeral home with Pastor Alan West officiating. Burial will follow at Oakland Cemetery, Moberly, Missouri.
