Evelyn Louise Barton

Evelyn Louise Barton 82 of Moberly passed away November 6, 2010 at Moberly Nursing & Rehab. Evelyn was born April 23, 1928 in Mexico to Edward and Eunice (Weaver) Blittshaw. Mrs. Barton retired from the Moberly Correctional Center in 1990 as a business manager. She had worked there for many years in various positions. She was a member of the Jefferson Avenue United Methodist Church and a member of the Democratic Club of Randolph County. In June of 1946 she married Norman “Cotton” Barton and he preceded her in death. She is survived by her sister-in-law Dorothea Barton of Clark; nieces Patricia Ivy of Laurens, SC, Reba Halterman of Moberly and Deborah Courson of Columbia; nephews L. Clay Barton of Lees Summit, MO and Richard Barton of Independence, Mo and many friends. She is preceded in death by her parents her husband, her sister Helen Phillips, son Joseph Bruce Barton and her nephew Lanny Barton. Services will be Saturday November 13, 2010 at 1:30 P.M. at Million-Taylor Funeral Home in Moberly Burial will be at the Chapel Grove Cemetery in Clark. Visitation will be Saturday from 11:30 until 1:30 P.M. at the funeral home. Memorials are suggested to the Jefferson Avenue United Methodist Church or Chapel Grove Cemetery.
