Frances Ann (Lingo) Hess was taken to her heavenly home on March 11, 2015 at the age of 77. She was born May 6, 1937 in her Grandmother Sarah Cooley’s home in Keytesville, MO to Sam William Lingo and Dortha Ann (Cooley) Lingo.
She was a graduate of Salisbury, MO High School. On February 27, 1957 in Moberly, MO she married Roy Albert Hess. To that union four children were born, Sarah, Shirley, Roy William and Paul. Frances and her sister Shirley gave their hearts to the Lord together as children on the same day. Frances loved God and she raised her children to love God. She lived for him and her family. She enjoyed working as a waitress in her teen years. She worked at Sears in Kansas City for a period of time and also worked as a waitress at Iona’s Café in Moberly for a period of time. She enjoyed her most treasured job as a devoted housewife and mother.
Frances is survived by her husband, Roy Albert Hess, of the home; her children, Sarah Peterson, Shirley (Alan) Friedly, and Roy William Hess all of Huntsville, Paul (Alice) Hess of Cairo; grandchildren, Pam (Chief Mike) Hopper of Huntsville, Patrick (Rachelle) Hess of Hannibal, step-grandchildren, Amber Risch of Moberly, Ashlee Chapman of Boonville, Jennifer Gillotti of Holden, Michelle Friedly of Concordia; great grandchildren, Bailey Hopper and Logan Hopper of Huntsville, Braxton Hess of Hannibal; step great-grandchildren, Kadance Chapman of Boonville, Zeth Gillotti and Frankie Gillotti of Holden, Colby Stein and Malakai, Charles and Anastasia Williams of Concordia.; brothers Ronnie (Annette) Lingo of Huntsville, Ralph (Beverly) Lingo of California, MO; nieces, nephews, other extended family and friends.
She was preceded in death by her parents, Sam and Dortha Lingo, sister, Shirley Doreen Turner, a baby brother, Sam Lingo Jr. and son-in-law, Neil Peterson.
Services for Frances will be Friday, March 13, 2015, at 3:00 p.m. at Pathway Memorial Funeral Home in Moberly followed with burial at Hagar Cemetery in Huntsville. Visitation will be from 1:00 p.m. until 3:00 p.m. at the funeral home. Pastor Vic Comstock will officiate. Pathway Memorial Funeral Home has been entrusted with the arrangements.
