Frederick Robert Melchert

Frederick Robert Melchert, 87 formerly of Moberly passed away Monday, May 13, 2013 in Columbia, Mo. Fred was born to the late, Fred and Bertha (Schmidt) Melchert on October 31, 1925 in Mt. Olive, Il. He was a farmer for most of his life and loved to read and enjoyed visiting with family and friends. Fred was a great conversationalist. He was preceded in death by his former wife, Shirley Melchert; son, Robert Dean Melchert; and sister, Louise Melchert. Fred is survived by his daughters: Linda M. Daiprai and husband Bennie of Huntsville, Karen Moranda and husband Bob of Columia, and Theresa Brigham of Columbia; 10 grandchildren and 12 great grandchildren. A graveside service will be held on Saturday, May 18, 2013 at 10:00 a.m at the Memorial Park Cemetery in Moberly under the direction of Million Taylor Funeral Homes.
