Garnett Gerlee Reynolds

Garnett “Gerlee” Reynolds, 93 of Higbee passed away on Monday, March 11, 2013 at the Moberly Regional Medical Center. Gerlee was born to the late Roscoe and Leona (Summerfield) Gipson on October 24, 1919 in Huntsville, Missouri. She married the late William Reynolds on November 10, 1945. Gerlee worked for State Farm in the accounting department for many years before retiring. She was an active member at the First Baptist Church of Higbee, volunteered for the Higbee Senior Center and the granny program at the Higbee school. Gerlee was known as the Avon lady and delivered Avon for over 20 years. She was a kind, caring lady who loved to take care of others. She was also preceded in death by her son, Martin Eugene Roberts; and brother, Howard Gipson. Gerlee is survived by sons: William Ernest Reynolds and wife Trish; Howard Leon Reynolds and wife Marcia; Jerry Dean Reynolds and wife Jeane; and Charles Reynolds and wife Phyllis; daughter, Blanche Wright and husband Perry of Moberly; brothers: Ralph Gipson and wife Louise; Delbert Gipson and wife Doris; and William Gipson and wife Pearl; sister, Jacqueline Chrisman; 12 grandchildren and 21 great grandchildren. A memorial service will be held on Thursday, March 14, 2013 at 11:00 a.m at the First Baptist Church of Higbee. Arrangements are being handled by Million Taylor Funeral Homes of Moberly. In lieu of customary remembrances, the family asks that memorials be made in Gerlee’s honor to The American Cancer Society or the Higbee Senior Center.
