Garron Lynn Hanley

Garron Lynn Hanley, age 73, of Moberly, MO, passed away December 30, 2022, at Harry S. Truman Memorial Veterans' Hospital (VA) in Columbia, MO.

Garron was born on April 22, 1949, in Cape Girardeau, MO to Vernon and Ella Louise (Hodges) Hanley.

He graduated from Oran High School, in Oran, MO and from Three Rivers College in Poplar Bluff, MO. He honorably served his country in the United States Army as a Sergeant from 1970-1971 during the Vietnam War. Garron earned several awards of merit during his time in the Army.

Garron attended Family Life Fellowship. He enjoyed fishing, meeting new people and making friends. Garron was part of the Funny Pages coffee club and faithfully attended the YMCA over the years. His family will always remember his smile and infectious laughter. He was generous and dependable and took the best care of his momma for over 15 years. Garron loved children, and always enjoyed his time with the children in the family.

He is preceded in death by his father, Vernon Hanley; his grandparents, Carl and Maude Hodges and Henry and Martha Jane Hanley.

Garron is survived by his mother, Ella Louise Hanley; his siblings, LaDonna Smith, San Jose, CA, Doug (Susan) Hanley, Winterhaven, FL, Rodney (Linda) Hanley, Cairo, MO, and Randy Hanley, Moberly, MO.

Plans are being made for a memorial service celebrating Garron’s life later in the year.
