Gary Edgar Burton

Gary Edgar Burton, 82 of Moberly, MO passed away at his home on August 28, 2022, surrounded by his wife of 61 years, Joyce Burton, and his children. Gary was faithful Christian, he retired in 2001 after 42 years of service with Norfolk Southern as a clerk operator. But the work that he loved most was farming.  Outside of working and farming he loved to be surrounded by his family and friends. He will be remembered cruising the neighborhood on his gator with his favorite dog. Ugly riding shotgun with the rest of the dogs following closely behind. 

He is preceded in death by his parents, Edgar and Beulah Burton and Grandson Nickolaus Burton. 

He is survived by his wife Joyce Burton, children, Thersea Kellogg, Gary T. Burton, Deanna (Kyle) White, and Rob (Kathy) Burton, grandchildren, Leslie (Ben) Oakley, Breanna (Cayton) Ehart, Joel (Tiffany) White, Zach Lunceford, Devin (Emily) White, Ashley (Mike) Burton, Zack Burton, Ian Burton, Tucker Burton, Savannah Gayton, great-grandchildren, Lille, Addie, Vivian, Abigail, Kendi, Jada, Paisley, Mila, Beckett, Aryanna, Nicole, Garrett, and Andrew.

He will be greatly missed by all who knew and loved him. To honor Gary’s wishes there will be no services. In his nature of helping others, his last act of kindness was donating his body to research and science.
