Genelle Calicott

Genelle passed peacefully from this life the evening of January 6, 2011 after a gradual decline in health. She was surrounded and supported by her loving family and caregivers during the last days of life. Genelle was born in Yates, MO on June 20, 1913. She married William Kent Calicott on March 13, 1937. She lived mainly in Winnwood, MO, Moberly and Excelsior Springs, MO. She moved to Independence, MO after the death of her husband. Genelle is survived by five children and spouses Muriel and Danny Miller, William and Ruth Calicott, Barbara Hannah, Brenda and Eddie Bingham and James Kent Calicott. She is also survvied by 20 grandchildren, 40 great-grandchildren and 49 great-great-grandchildren. She was preceded in death by her husband William Kent Calicott, son-in-law Ben Hannah, daughter-in-law Yoshiko Tawata Calicott, granddaughters Jennifer Wolfe and Elizabeth Hickman, brothers Homer Ballew, Lewis Ballew, Henry Ballew, Floyd Ballew and Ernest Ballew, sisters Grace Gorham, Wanda Woods and Mary Ellen Brubeck. Services will be Saturday, January 15, 2011 at 2:00 P.M. at the Million-Taylor Funeral Home in Moberly. Burial will be at Memorial Park Cemetery.
