George J. Chaloupka, 90 of Moberly passed away, Sunday, February 03, 2013 at the Loma Linda Nursing Home. George was born to the late James and Marie (Klicman) Chaloupka on April 27, 1922 in Braidwood, Illinois. He was a longtime resident of Higbee. He worked for Durkee’s for many years as a forklift driver before retiring in 1989. He was a former member of the Moose Lodge in Moberly. He loved farming, bird watching, western movies and dancing the polka. He was preceded in death by his son, Gerald; sisters: Rose Suchan, Anna Cafarelli, Helen Hermann, Ella Maly, Mildred Chaloupka; brothers: Charles Chaloupka and James Chaloupka. George is survived by his sons: Richard Chaloupka and wife Faith of Cairo, Mo; and Robert Chaloupka and wife Lisa of Huntsville, MO; daughters: Betty Peterson and husband Kent of Des Moines, IA; Diane Haley and husband Derrick of Moberly, MO; Shirley Blackman and husband Lyle of Windsor Heights, IA; Janice Wassmuth and husband Dan of Cairo, MO; Ruth Sullivan and James Jewell of Indianola, IA; and Charlene Slade and husband Brett of Indianola, IA; former wives; Anna Chaloupka of Hunstville, MO; and Marilyn Wilson of Moberly, MO; 19 grandchildren; 13 great grandchildren; and many loving nieces and nephews. A visitation will be held on Tuesday, February 5, 2013 from 5:00 P.M until 7:00 P.M at the Million Taylor Funeral Home of Moberly. A Funeral Service will follow at 7:00 p.m. Cremation will be accorded by Million Taylor Funeral Home and burial will take place at a later date in the Bohemian National Cemetery in Chicago, IL.
