George Martin Gravitt

George Martin Gravitt, age 88, of Moberly, MO, passed away on Wednesday, December 18, 2024, at home surrounded by family and friends at 4:07 a.m.

George was born on September 13, 1936, in Moberly, MO, to Jack and Rosie Anna (Rockenfield) Gravitt. He was employed by Orscheln as a Laborer, where he worked for more than 23 years. 

He enjoyed fishing, being outdoors, repairing lawn mowers, and drinking beer with family and friends. His family and friends will always remember him by his smile and his flirtatiousness.

He is preceded in death by his parents, Jack and Rosie Anna; son, Michael; grandchildren, Adam and Johnathon; great grandson, Sebastian; siblings, John, Leroy, Margie, Joseph “Pete”, Barbara Taylor.

George is survived by his children, Letha Edwards (Sara), of Moberly, MO, Tony (Tia) Gravitt, of Moberly, MO, Cheryl (Stephanie) Gravitt, of Moberly, MO, Sherrie Hutton (Dale Hull), of Moberly, MO, Mark (Sharon) Gravitt, of Moberly, MO, Chris (Tasha) Gravitt, of Ashland, MO; 24 grandchildren; 23 great grandchildren; siblings, Lucille Eubanks, of MI, James Gravitt, of Moberly, MO, Kenneth Gravitt, of Moberly, MO, Anna Mae Jackson, of Moberly, MO; three step-children and several close friends.

A service celebrating George's life will be held on Friday, December 27, 2024, at 1:00 p.m. at Pathway-Millard Family Funeral Chapel.  Visitation will be held before the service from 12:00-1:00 p.m.  Interment will follow at Oakland Cemetery in Moberly, Missouri.
