Georgia Ann Riley, 81 of Moberly, passed away January 2, 2019 at University Hospital in Columbia, MO. She was born August 1, 1937 in Old Milton, MO to Wilson Barnhart McCormick and Oleta Frances (Avery) McCormick.
Georgia worked for McGraw Edison for 20 years and sold Avon for 40 years. With the help of her daughter, she placed her last order while a patient in the hospital. Her big heart and enthusiasm for helping others provided her with many customers who then became friends. On December 24, 1956 she married Charles Riley and they spent 62 wonderful years together. Georgia was a member of North Park Baptist Church. She volunteered at the church whenever she could. She was a St. Louis Cardinals fan and enjoyed working jigsaw puzzles as well as reading. More than anything Georgia loved to celebrate birthdays and Christmas. Her granddaughter nicknamed her “Christmas Grandma”.
Those preceding Georgia in death are her parents and her son, Greg Riley.
Survivors include, her husband, C.B. Riley of Moberly; children, Randy (Barbara) Riley of Sedalia, Debbie Squires of Sedalia and Pam (Scott) Breid of Green Ridge; 11 grandchildren; 14 great grandchildren; siblings, Jeannette (Donnie) Albright of Higbee and Wilson (Beverly) McCormick of Madison; sister-in-law, Donna (Russell) Smashey; extended family and many friends.
Services celebrating Georgia’s life will be held on Saturday, January 5, 2019 at 2:00 p.m. at Pathway Memorial Funeral Home. Visitation will be held Saturday, January 5, 2019 at the funeral home from 12:00 noon until the time of service.
